We’re here to support your child, their way.
About Us.
-
Client led.
At Wild Light, we create a safe, nurturing space where your child can be themselves. Clients are supported with evidence-based interventions, using engaging modalities, such as play-based supports, and animal-assisted therapy. In a thoughtfully designed environment we help them explore, learn, and grow in a way that feels natural and supportive.
Clients can discover themselves, learn strategies and build skills in a way that feels engaging and supportive to them.
-
Sensory friendly.
Our space is thoughtfully designed with neurodivergent needs in mind. From calming environments to sensory tools, we create a setting where your child can feel at ease. With a focus on comfort and safety, we ensure their journey is supportive, engaging, and tailored to how they experience the world.
In a world that tries to define ‘normal,’ we believe your child deserves a space to be unapologetically themselves.

We see clients from the age of four to twenty-one. Whilst we offer play based counselling, this can look different at each age. And, we utilise different styles of Counselling to match the client's needs. If the client prefers to talk, we talk. If they thrive through art, we use art. Our clients lead the way.

Prior to 2024 we were based in Mango Hill, north of Brisbane. However, in 2024 Rach and her therapy dog, Matilda, started on an adventure travelling Australia, seeing clients via Telehealth.
In 2025, Wild Light Counselling will settle in Agnes Water, Qld. Sessions will continue to be available via Telehealth, along with options for face to face support for clients living in or visiting the Discovery Coast.

No, you don't need a referral to access a Counsellor in Australia, which makes taking that first step a lot easier. We gather any required information in an Intake session, where the Counsellor will guide you through some questions to help get to know you, your family and how we can help your young person.
-
Yes, you can, so long as you have allocated funds in 'Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living' and you are either Self-Managed or Plan-Managed. If you're not sure we can help you understand your plan and provide resources to help navigate your NDIS plan.

Rach is registered with the Australian Counselling Association as a Level 4 Counsellor (this is the highest level). Rach is also a qualified and registered Professional Supervisor, guiding and supporting other Counsellors in their role.
Rach utilises evidence-based practices to ensure clients are supported with the highest ethical standards.
